I think that most people would tend to agree that it is generally a few dynamic high-performing affiliates that have most to do with the success of an affiliate program. What are some ways that you can find the right affiliates for your business?
Headhunt – Scour affiliate forums and look for people that you think are right for your business.
Probationary periods – One online bookmaker I know of has a system where affiliates have three months to find six signups. Why not close the door on under performers? Lower numbers of affiliates equals more potential sales for your high performers and they know that.
Screening – Check your affiliates’ websites personally. Do a bit of research, run a who-is to establish how old their site is and to know who you are getting.
