Anyone that regularly publishes affiliate newsletters will know how stressful it can be to find the clock ticking, the days counting away and have no time for writing or no ideas to write about. Fortunately, there are a few tips and tricks that are employed by the pros that make life a little easier for everyone.
Rehash an old article – There is no reason why you cannot pick up an old article and rework it. If you have an old article that fits the theme of your current newsletter, why not give it a new lease of life. There is no rule that says your affiliate newsletters must always contain new ideas. If something worked once, it can work again.
Bring in the blog posts – If you don’t have an affiliate blog, this won’t be of much use, but if you do, it is a goldmine for last minute material. Using a blog article in an affiliate newsletter is a great way to draw attention to the blog. It is possible that not all of your affiliates are aware of its existence.
Do a recap – If you are all out of ideas, how about recapping some of the statistics from the month. Were their any movers or shakers? You don’t need to name names, you can keep the information semi-anonymous while letting the people that you are writing about know that you have noticed them. It can give the affiliate newsletter a community-like feel and is worth doing on occasion even if you are not hit with a dreadful case of writer’s block.
